|| Happy Halloween? No. Happy All Saints Eve!!! |

In Mexico we use to celebrate Halloween, yep, but it isn't closely Funny as DAY OF THE DEAD (Or all saints eve).



So if you're celebrating Halloween, good for you!! But the best day for me is November two, here in Mexico (and thanks god, that day is not a job day).



It is supposed for Mexican people that their beloved people who died (no matter if it was recently or it was long time ago) return in the middle of the night between the 1st. and the 2nd. day of November.



All is so colorful! No witches, no ghosts, not vampires or monsters, just the dead people who is paying a visit to their family! So we build shrines for them, offering food, drinks and flowers.



The celebration is great, specially in the graveyards!! They're full of lights, candles, countless flowers and food! all people praying and singing for his dead relatives, as a reminder of the value of the life and the concept of Mexican people of the death. Even in death, we are happy and we love the party.



Even my students are building in the school a shrine for the mother of one of them, who died a few years ago.

i may not be Mexican, but im Puerto Rican, so thats close enough (kinda :slow: )

we celebrated that day once in 8th grade by going to the nearby Cemetary and having lunch there

Había oído hablar de esa festividad , y es muy interesante! Es bueno recordar a todos aquellos que se han ido con cariño y con respeto:hug:
Y el Halloween es divertido, aunque acá en Argentina se celebra muy poco y es raro ver a alguien disfrazado y mucho menos ver a los críos pidiendo golosinas en las casas. Y ni hablar la del día de los santos difuntos, por lo menos en México, cuando celebran algo, lo celebran a lo grande! (me encantaría que en BS AS se celebrara así, pero ni ahí. Argentina es uno de los países más aburridos en lo que a celebraciones se refiere :no:)

Las fotos están geniales!:laughing: esa del difunto con sombrero está de lujo! Y ojalá puedas poner alguna de tus estudiantes con el altar:blowkiss:

In Hong Kong we've got that too!! Except I can't remember exactly when it is ^^; There's heaps of food at that time for everyone and we make lanterns and stuff to hang outside. And we go visit their graves just like Day of the Dead. It's called Ching Ming Festival, but my friends and I think Graveyard Day sounds much more fun :D

Oh si! Adoro el dia de Muertos y detesto que la gente mexicana lo opaque tanto por el Halloween y mascaras y eso. meeeeh.
De todos modos, mis amigos y yo hicimos un arco para el hermano de un amigo mio que murio hace unos meses, y quedo hermoso <3 (Es decir, desde las 7 am hasta las 8 pm sin descansos entre 20 personas? <3 como no quedaria lindo?) Te dejo una fotillo por si te interesa ver >:3
